Alright so im finally to the point where i want to get a new carb to compliment the edelbrock intake manifold and cam. Ive narrowed it down to the 600 cfm edelbrock and the 670 holley truck avenger. From what ive gathered so far is that the edelbrock is almost bolt-on and go but its not great off road and the holley is a ***** to tune but good off-road once its tuned. My question is, how hard is it to tune the holley and how bad is the edelbrock off-road?

Also, what all do you have to change out on the holley to get it tuned right? power valves, fuel bowls, what else?

thanks

edit: forgot to mention that its a 360 and i use the waggy for daily driving as well as about 5 or so off-road trips a year.

670cfm may be a bit large for a 360. I'm running this on my seriously hopped up 390.

At 5000rpm a warmed over 360 will probably not pull more than 500CFM - realisticly less - and I doubt you will run more than 4500rpm unless you are trying to drag race your FSJ.

You might seriously consider the 470 Holley Truck avenger. The smaller carb will give you better throttle response and torque down low where you need it.

Holley's are easy to tune but will probably be pretty close right out of the box.
