Axles????

Im lookin to upgrade my Axles to D60 front and 14 bolt rear. What older GM rigs came with the D60/14 bolt combo? And how do I identify these axles?

Any 1-ton 4x4 chevy pickup should have what you're looking for. Maybe even a 1-ton 4x4 burb if you could find one. Not sure. Might get expensive too.

A D60 should have a 60 cast into the lower right side of the diff as you look at the cover. A 14 bolt will be a bit bigger than a D60 and have 14 bolts holding the cover on the diff.

You should be able to pick up that 14 bolt at your local junkyard/pick-n-pull for $100-150. The front 60 will run you a quite bit more unless you get lucky and find a deal someplace. Here is a link to some axle info.

an unmistakeable way to id a 14 bolt is the bolts aroud the pinion...

the cover is uniquely shaped,too. once youve seen one for sure,they will jump out at you easily.

at a glance,the 60 looks like a big 44 smile.gif and it will have kinpins instead of traditional ball joints. hopefully it will have the 60 cast into the webbing
