wheel problem

on the way to work i heard some weird noises. it was my wheel bearing that had exploded. it was just about to lock up. it did however disform the spindle some and gouge it uo pretty bad. now my question is the right front wheel spindle hard to change and up to what years are the spindles interchangeable?

It's not hard to change at all. If you do wheel bearing repacks, it's just another 6 nuts and the
spindle comes off. You may have to hit it with a rubber or rawhide mallet to break it loose. Spindles from '76 and up on FSJ's and Chevy blazers and 4x trucks should work for your '79. Make sure the inner needle bearing on your replacement spindle is in good condition. The new wheel bearings should go on with a tight fit. If you can spin them with your hands, shop for a new spindle,
