Yes I took the plunge!! I got your email but have not had time to respond. I love the kit so far. It came with four new springs, new stainless brake lines, a tapered block for the rear, new U bolts, and all new shocks. It did not come with a drop pitman arm and I think that I will add one. I did get some bump steer but it is not that bad. The fit finish and quality of the kit is pretty good. I did have to change the center pins on my front springs because the head was to big. The kit allowed for full clearance of 33x12.50 on 10" American racing wheels and no rubbing. The rear springs ride better than stock but the front end is a little stiff. I think the front will settle and loosen some after some usage. Over all the kit is good and would recommend it to some one who needs the extra clearance for 33's.

bchesley:
What's the price for the 6" lift; and did the price include all of the stuff you listed?

The kit price was 699.00 and did include all the above mentioned parts. I added a new steering stabilizer for 30 more. So far I like the kit. I am going to have to lengthen the parking brake cables, but all in all it is a complete kit. I am probably going to add about an inch to the driveshafts to get them back to close the stock spline engagement but they will work like the are.

Brad, thanks for the info. How long to ship~ any problems? Can you see if you're gonna have a clearance problem between FR driveshaft and that crossmember? BTW did you measure your actual lift ammount~ just curious. Oh, how many leaves in the pack?

Thanks,

The front driveshaft has plenty of clearance, but any higher and you will definately have problems. I did not measure the height before the lift because I had saggy springs. I ordered my kit on monday and it shipped tuesday and I got it on friday. The front leaf pack has five leaves and the rear has four with an overload spring.

Excellent!! :D Appreciate the info. It seems that I now have a decision to make: 4"lift/3" body lift/fender trim for 35's
~or~
6" Rusty's lift and fender trim for 35's.

Hmmmmmmm............... ;)

I think the decision should be obvious:

6" Rusty's/3" body lift/fender trim for 38's. smile.gif

Add an SOA and rear shackle flip, and 44's are in-reach. :D

If you want image hosting or web hosting, i can do it for free on my computer at home, Right now it hosts my two domains, www.captaintrips.net (http://www.captaintrips.net) and www.fsj401.org. (http://www.fsj401.org.) I will gladly give anyone a site with the address of www.fsj401.org/yourjeep (http://www.fsj401.org/yourjeep) if you want, and as long as you keep it under a hundred megs or so, no problemo. the only drawback is that my dsl is not the speed I would like it to be, but since i dont have that high of a load, it works fine.

I haven't been Rusty's biggest fan, as he has had some MAJOR problems with getting his products out to his customers< mainly our crowd. It seems as though he has fixed that problem.
I must admit that I had his XJ 4" lift in my possesion and it look very high quality.
I am kinda on Bob'b side w/ 3"body/6" springs/38's :D Although the wifey will be hard to convince

You can check out the pics here. I will take some more with a better camera, and with more detail. These pictures do not do it any justice.

I have checked Rusty's site and he only lists a 3.5"-4" lift for FSJs. Is this 6" lift new? Is there a chart anywhere that will show how much lift is needed for different tire sizes? I have an '83 Cherokee S that already has 33"-12.50s on it with stock springs. How much larger could I go with only the 3.5"-4" lift? I was seriously considering the Skyjacker lift. Any comments or recommendations either way? Where would you recommend buying the Skyjacker kit from?

Thanks for the info.....

Clay

Clay, If you're look'in for a good 4" kit surf on over to www.davidallenracing.com (http://www.davidallenracing.com) . He sells the BDS kit to IFSJA members for $525 (not incl. shocks). The BDS kit is real comparable to a Skyjacker (ride wise), and it has a no questions asked lifetime warranty. Oh and he's located in Mears, MI (west coast).

The 6" Rusty's kit is brand new, and looks to be a good value for the money. I was gonna go with the BDS kit, but my goal is 35"-37" tires (who knows mabey 38's) and as little body lift as possible on a NT G-Wag~ so 6" of lift makes more sense. Besides, Bigger IS Better. :D
