All,
We donated all the money you all generously gave us for pizza in Telluride (even though we said we would pay) to the mountian rescue folks (best pizza and cup of java I ever had. Wonder if the day had to do with it?).

You probably noticed the new building going up on the Yankee Boy/Imogene/box canyon falls road while we were waiting to wheel.
Seems the town doesn't have enough money to complete the building so they are selling bricks to build the building.

We bought a brick with the dough.

The brick will say "FSJ INVASION 2006" on it. So once the building is done, look for the brick and send me a pic ( hey, that rymed).
It is from all of us.

Sweet Ralph. That was a great idea. Thanks for putting the money to a good use. You never know when WE may need search and rescue to help us out.

Great idea Ralph - glad to see it's going to go to such good use. How much are those bricks, and is there a phone number or web contact to buy more?

Bricks start at $100 and up to whatever you want.
We found the stuff in one of those local rags and paid the money to the guy/artist who does the glass blowing stuff in Ouray. He also owns the store gallery and is a member of the rescue team.
In fact, the first time we went in to see about it, he was down by Durango rescueing a fallen hiker, who sadly was DOA.

You can call Ouray Glass Works at 1-800-748-9421
or go to ourayglassworks.com
Or e-mail rushing@rmi.net
Contacts are Sam or Diane Rushing

Great  ,

That pizza was great.
Wasn't there a light pole involved? Or was it just Steve.

Actually I told Steve if He got me to the blacktop <read> Off this #@$%ing mountain:eek: , I would buy him whatever he wanted.
What a pucker factor:banghead: . Man I'm a wuss....It was just a hop skip and a bounce sideways halfway up the switch backs, followed by a where the Heck is Flatback going backwards, only to be followed by a wheel hop climb bounce, Oh My God what is that van doing, stall roll backwards to edge of drop off. Bail run like a scared kid, hitch a ride,What passing zone on the switchbacks:eek: ?, rainstorm mountain falling in you you kind of day.....

Death Stalked us All day. was so true.
It was a relief to see everyone back down on the pavement. Only to be held up by a slight mud flow problem trying to leave town. If only they knew what we went through an hour before that..

Hoot, I think when you do make it back to Ouray in your vehicle, I will have to place this on the rear of your jeep, for one day at least.

You were a good sport, taking in consideration what you went thru getting there and then riding shotgun on some trails where you looked down the side of the hill for quite some time, can make the pucker factor quite high.

And I go backwards sometimes just to get a glimps of something I thought I missed and I try to keep my backing skills to a 'higher' level.
Yeah "Death stalked us all day" was a good one, now you know what they meant.

Only thing we 'missed' was setting off one of the lost avalanch control shells, wouldn't that have been interesting?!

awesome, thanks for the grub, that was indeed the best coffee and pizza I've had :D

that was something, those washouts, thankfully we didn't need rescuing that day.

"what do you mean they won't send up a front loader after 5pm? We're taxpayers ******!"
