what timing?

I have an 86gw 360.I installed the summit cam edelbrock intake,carb, and thorley headers,and the tfi upgrade.The spec for stock timing is 12 degrees.Anyone else find that these motors run better with any other settings? Also what are you guys running for plug gaps with the TFI?

On your timimig, I've been told to keep adding until you get ping than back it down 2 degrees.
