I bought a CB today - it's 4" wide. I'm hoping to put in the spot currently occupied by the ashtray.

Okay, this'll sound dumb - but, can someone please (please) measure the opening that would be left after removing the ashtray ('88 GW). I bought the CB planning on later measuring... told ya' it would sound dumb. I'll explain - My GW is in Richmond, VA; I live in NYC (we all know that Jeeps don't like congested cities). Anyway, I couldn't measure the ashtray and the CB was on sale. See, it only sounded dumb... right...

Thanks!

AndyD... I owe ya'!

Thanks.

I've heard people say they're mounting CBs in the ashtray spot - who the &^#$ makes a CB that small? I thought that little 4" thing that I just bought was tiny... oh well.

My CB is getting mounted in the ashtray spot. It is one of the things I am going to do this weekend. I am using a Cobra 19 DX. It is 4 1/2 inches wide and my ashtray opening is 4 1/4. I will have to do a little trimming, but it will be worth it.

PC your ash tray is the slideout type of the classic wag. the end run wags dash has been crycoed and is a more car-like tilt open type.

Sorry to hear that tongue.gif One more reason I love the older wags.
