Hello everyone, I just finished putting my AT trans. and trans. case back in my J-10 in one piece. I had to replace the flexplate. My problem is now the drive shaft holes don't line up with the plate on the t-case. Can I just put the rear axle on jackstands, and turn a wheel till the line up? Also I forgot to tie up the shaft for the case before putting in the cross member, so that shaft has to come out, and placed above the member, so I can hook it up. I'll probly have the same problem, so do I just turn the whhel again? One more thing, the 4 nuts and bolts for the main shaft were crap, so I got new ones from a hardware store, grade 8, they should be o.k., right?? And I should use washers, there wern't any when I took it apart! Thanx for the advice!!!

It's an auto trans right? Then if the wheels are blocked and the trany shifted out of park the TC shafts should turn by hand, and A grade 8 bolt should be ok but ? about the washers.
