I don't like the Tracklock at all, they have a short life and don't work very well when new. You might want to consider a TrueTrac instead, long life, good road manners and great performance.

I agree with 64... trash locks are junk off road. They work (just barely) ok on the street. BTW...Don't use synthetic lube with any kind of limited slip diff.

Would a trac loc in the front with open hubs really wear out fast? I thought the front gears didn't spin unless you were in 4wd and/orlocked.

As stated, they don't have a great rep. They do need a friction additive so the clutches work properly.

Thanks for all the replies. As stated it will be in the front so it wont get used much.Who would carry the additive, just any parts store or is it special order?I cant rely complain I am getting it almost free with a set of gears but was trying to see if it was worth putting in.

i have them in both front and rear..if you set them up tight them they work fine...my rear will stay tight it you hammer in the mud and on street both..my front isnt as tight but still will stay together under low throttle..they are 5oo times better than open diff..no matter what anyone says to me..just my 2 cents

One nice thing about LSD is that they will GIVE if necessary. Better than breaking an axle.

Hey,getting the trac lok for "free" is great. Of course you have to use it & so what if it breaks. It's better than what you got now, right?
