I am NOT doing no dang list. If I did, my blood pressure would go up 30 points and I don't need that. We just scored a rebuilt QT for Phoebe. We have 4 QT hubs on the work bench and they are all trash. :( Phoebe makes 5. We bit the bullet and now will see what turns out with this transaction. Wally can go with a oil change, plugs, radiator, <crap, I said NO list!>

1. Enough cigars to get me through the whole trip
2. Enough Diet Dr. Pepper to get me through the whole trip
3. Figure out how to get annoyed co-FSJers with on-board-air to keep airing up my tank to run my nifty new 4-horn air-horns.

LIST you DON'T need any stinking LIST.
Just Tequila and a Twist.
Sun Screen.
If there is any list it will grow on you while your there.
My last trip there,
First night, beers, exhaust manifold gaskets and flashlights.
Thanks for the memories

This ain't no list... It is a goal. An attainable goal. We bought a professionally rebuilt QT out of NC this week. Should be here next Thursday and it is gonna replace the one in Krista's Phoebe. She has been limping on a defective QT since last year and deserves a good one for Ouray. We have 4 defective QT hubs on the bench. One in Phoebe and looks like the 75 has a hosed unit too. It was time to jump on this rebuilt one. :p

Hmm Well fixing propane tank leak failed when BlackBart twisted the end off a Klein screwdriver at that time we decided that anything else we did would possibly jeperdise the trip!
We need to bolt the 100 gallon tank onto the trailer so I don't have to pay an inflated rate for fuel this year!
Put on the locking hubs, tighten up exhaust again, install some kind of heat shield to keep exhaust heat out of the cab and off the propane tank, install CB, and maybe some kind of radio, bolt gang box to the trailer for lockable storage .
Just a few things LOL

Bring extra shot glasses! Shots and ladders has six glasses in the set so bring extras so EVERYONE can play!!!! http://gwamp.com/offtopic/images/smiles/icon_pidu.gif
I found a liquor store in Cortez that sells El Jimador so we will stock up. Unless Jaime wants to send me that QT full of tequila that we discussed a couple of years ago??!!:D

I still have THE shot glass used for the last three years which belongs to Jamie. The original Texas Six Flags shot glass always seems to end up in my camping gear.
I’m bringing some high tech tequila for everyone but I’ll pass on the game though.http://www.dakotacom.net/~jeepster/tipshades.gif

First thing to be said, as I came up from Durango today, it was 54 deg. in Dur at 230pm snowed/hailed to west of town, rain somewhat in hills to north.
#1- Jacket- if from usually warm area, bring a winter jacket.
misc parts you might think you may need
water/antifreeze, oil, QT fluid, belt(s), rad hoses, spare tire or two,
and my favorite, most of all the tools I own.

Bring cloths that will be comfortable from 30 to 90 degrees. Be prepared to layer on in the morning and remove layers in the afternoon. It could be dry and sunny all day or we could have rain and/or snow any given day.
Gas cans are optional since there is fuel readily available in Ouray, Silverton and Ridgeway.
Carry snacks and plenty of drinking water for the rides. We stop for snacks, lunch, photo opportunities and most important - break downs... ;)
Like Phil said, bring whatever spare parts you think you might need along with oil, tranny fluid, QT fluid, starter fluid, blinker fluid and washer fluid.
For the polar bears in the bunch - You know what to bring.

Based on last years events, bring 3 high pressure power steering hoses. One for yourself, 2 to sell. I don't remember how many the group went through in total, but the local parts stores ran out before we left.

..
Well… We are going to ‘cop out’ and not go in the Wagoneer. We fixed the two problems in the tilt column. The ’76 401 is ready to go… A rear brake is dragging a little for the first mile then OK. But the Jeep is only 30 years old and in good shape. On the other hand Doris and I are well over twice that old and are starting to weather a little bit. So we’ll be in our FSJ retriever  again this year ..

On The Lost Trail headed for Stony Pass (1999)
... In case others might want to hook up and do Stony Pass on the way to Ouray here is my route.
Sunday the 16th . Ft.Worth, Amarillo, Dalhart and spend the night in Clayton NM.
Monday the 17th Springer, Eagle Nest, Red River, Alamosa CO, South Fork, Creede and spend the night at the west end of the Rio Grande Reservoir with Steve. (south of Lake City -west of Creede)..
Tuesday the 18th Run The Lost Trail over Stony Pass with Steve to Silverton (we might eat at the Brown Bear Café-Bar) Then head to Ouray and spend the next four nights in #12 at the Timber Ridge Motel on the north side of Ouray next door to the Texico Station. Most FSJ’ers will be at the KOA a couple of miles north of Ouray.
… There are several short cuts along the way. Stony Pass can be done in stock 4x4’s

Jason - Yes! At least a 6 pack of microbrew to whoever can pick my QT and D44 LockRight from Mark Wilde in the Springs and bring them to Ouray! You can reach Mark through CFSJA or PM me for his email. THANKS! I guess I better get busy and pay Mark for the LockRight...

Flint... I sold Mark my razor so I still have his phone number in my cell. I will give him a call tonight. Do you have fat tire down there Flint?
Ken... Do you mind going down through springs and then over to Sedalia? Little bit longer trip but it sounds like you will get to meet the elusive Mark Wilde! There are even a few FSJ's on that route. I guess this means that I need to get the razor mounting tabs cut off my core support before I head down there to complete the transaction.
