Does anyone know how much of a weight difference there is between the 6.2l and 6.5l diesel engine? Are they interchangeable for the 360 to diesel swap? And, where can I find a good cheap donor engine and drivetrain in Texas? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,

Should be less than 100lbs difference betweeen the two, as they're essentially the same engine with a slight bore difference. They are pretty much interchangable for your purposes.
There are many salvage yards and auctions in the DFW area where you can obtain a donor rig.

For swap purposes, I would look only at 1993 and older vehicles. That way you get the mechanical injection pump, which is alot more reliable. If you are looking for a complete donor, you may want to focus on the 1993's as they will for the most part be turbocharged and will provide you with more power.
This page is a wealth of info.

6.2 's can be found at lots of military surplus auctions.
I got a engine parts kit a few years ago for a 6.2 for 280.00 Crank, rods, and pistons...plus gaskets and bearings. If I remember NEW engines were going for about 650.00 Long block.
