Quick power valve question

I have a quick question about the vac line that runs from the power valve on the M 2150 carb on my 88 GW. Should the PV get vac right from the intake manafold? Or should it get a ported vac?

Going on memory here as I am too old to look at the moment (not a good omen for my memory) BUT as I recall it is manifold vacuum. I will check my 87 and post back if not.
