Most here like the Summit cams but I use the Comp Cams 260H. Decent cam but I'm going with the Comp Cams 270 next time. I want a bit more umph in her!

The edelbrock cam is based on very old technology. It has log seat durations and a relatively short duration at .050" lift. It also has a wide LSA of 114 degrees. This results in poor thotle response.

I would look for a cam with a LSA of 110-112 degrees. This will help with the cylinder pressure and give you a broader peak. Also look for one with as as small a difference between the seat (advertised) duration and the duratoin at .050" lift. This is a good indicator of how agressive the ramps are. And though Im not a big comp cams fan, a good example of this kind of cam is the compcams XE series. These respond well to being advanced a liitle as well. This style of cam reflects the way newer cams are ground and how, even with flat tappets, they try to copy the profile of a roller as much as possible.

It's all about the area under the curve.
