I have just finished the TFI upgrade and set timing, and attempted to adjust idle mixture at the carb. Now when the Wagoneer warms up it won't idle. Just barely stumbles and doesn't take throttle very easily. Can anyone tell me exactly where to adjust idle speed on my Motorcraft 2150? Haynes manual sucks. Thanks in advance.

There are 2 idle adjustments. Both are located on driver's side of carb. One is a solenoid and the other is curb idle screw just under the throttle arm.You can also adjust idle mixture(screws are located at the front bottom of the carb(best to use a vacuum gauge for this).Check all your vac lines and make sure you have you plug wires in the correct order.Check your choke and make sure it's opening when the truck warms up and that both air inlet doors in your air cleaner snorkle open up.
On the idle mixture screws lightly bottom both of them and then turn them out one and a half turns as your baseline.Look for highest vacuum reading if you have a gauge.

Well, I went under the hood to look at the idle solenoid and it wasn't there! It is on the label on the radiator support, but not on the carb. Is it missing? or is it not supposed to be there this year? I am lost, anyone with any ideas?

It's supposed to be there. It's for idle compensation and anti-dieseling.Someone has removed it probably. Is there a bullet type connector wirenext to the driver's side of the carb?

Coolram, I found a orange bullet type connector a while ago and have been trying to find out where to put this. What color is the wire on yours? Do you think I can get one from autozone or parts house?
