I have my angles for my rear shaft and I think I have all the math figured out.....

T case angle is 6 deg down, tube slope 19 deg and pinion angle is 6 deg down (pinion IS pointing up)

With these numbers I can calculated that the u-joint operating angles are both 13 deg. But that's static measurements, with load (torque) applied to the shaft the pinion will rotate up 1~2 deg. With this in mind my pinion angle will now be 8 deg at cruise throttle thus changing the operating angle to 11 deg at the pinion. Now I still need both joints to operate at the same at cruise I should shim the rear down 2 deg to make the pinion angle 4 deg at static and 6 deg at cruise throttle. And with the shimmed pinion and throttle my pinion will turn back up to 6 deg and I will be at equal operating angles.

I hope this is correct, now I need to choose the proper u-joints for this application. What should I use?

 size? or what brand?

as far as sizes go,it depends on the axle. on a 44 it doesnt make sense to make the u joint stronger than everything else on the axle ;) a 1310 sized joint is fine.

if youve a 14 bolt/60/70 the bigger the better :D prolly 1350s are fine, but if you can scrounge/pony up the $$ for the right yokes 1410S are stronger and have better operating angles.

as for brand,i use PDQ cheapo joints from the 'Zone and i just grease/check them before each trip and repalce them yearly as preventative maintenance.

others may have brand preferences,if this is the info youre after :)
