QT to d300 swap

What all is involved in this swap? I have a 77 j10 360/th400.

I considered this myself. Not just to the 300, but any other t-case. Your TH400 will have to be dropped and completely taken apart as the output shaft will not match anything, other than the q/t.

Plus, your driveshafts aren't going to mate up either, so you will have to find one, or have one made.

Kinda sucks, don't it? Yes it can be done, but not without modifications and denero.

Hopefully the other's who have done this swap will chime in.

well my install went pretty easy! i ordered a kit from novak 134-a kit runs 429 +shipping!
i installed my own tailshaft,since i had my tranny out already... everything was easy from there...
my front shaft worked,but could use an inch or 2...the rear had to be lengthen'd 3"..but remember folks i am running 1 tons,so 1/2 ton stuff might be even shorter,ie:more addition/mods to shafts...
