I have BJ's 4 inch lift installed and with the 32" MT tires I do get a slight rubbing in the front. Rather than cut the fenders I was wondering if lifting the truck another inch with some extended shackles in the front and blocks in the rear would solve this issue. I haven't been offroad yet but I don't think that would be a good idea until I fix this situation.

sounds good to me. a slight shackle lift and a 1" block shouldn't hurt any of your angles or handling too bad. the chevy shackles are a nice option for the front.

Are you sure the front tires are rubbing the fenders? I wouldn't see that happening on the street. Maybe it's the leaf springs they're rubbing against, mine rubbed on the drivers side leaf spring with 31's. I fixed it with a slight steering stop adjustment and I could never tell the difference in the turning radius.

My 31" tires don't rub the front fenders with no lift so I wouldn't think you would rub with 32's and a 4" lift. I do rub the back fenders a little bit when it's flexed off-road.

Yes, the fronts seem to rub. Mainly in a situation were they are turned and the front suspension drops then the body catches up and hits the tires a little. This happens more on the driver's side because the fender there has a little dent in it that pushes it in more. I just wanted to find out if there are going to be any complications with the driveshafts or something else before I do it. I have extended brake lines but they are not installed yet. I don't have a dropped pitman arm either. And I still run the front track bar. Anyone else go through this?

We have run many 4" lift with narrow and wide 33" tires and wide 32" tires and the only problems for road use have been the tires rubbing on the leaf springs, as mentioned above. This was fixed with new steering stops. Also if this is happening to only one side a person can just adjust the drag link or remove the trac bar. Some times this will fix the problem but only if there is very mionor rubbing.

bd2thbnAZ, with 4" lift kits & 32's on an NT rig, you will have slight rubbing during articulation & when the front wheels are turned. There are a few remedy's, though.

1. Use a baseball bat, and "roll" the fenders slightly. This is an old hot-rodder trick so that they could lower hot-rods and fit fat tires inside the wheel wells without shredding them. Email me and I can provide more info.

2. Install a 1" body lift. This will more than clear your issues.

3. Install longer shackles in front & blocks in rear. I personally wouldn't go for blocks, as I feel they are unsafe. The front shackles are a so-so choice. Reason being that you will further-affect your steering geometry, and further extend your front driveshaft during off-roading.

For the standard on-road driving issues, on the inside of your front wheel, you will see a small bolt that goes into the front steering knuckle. That bolt can be unscrewed a little bit, and that will limit the amount your wheels can turn left or right. This eliminates the tires rubbing on the leaf springs.

As for the dent you have, I would recommend pulling it so reduce your chances of shredding a tire.

your fronts rub but not the back? I have always found the rear rub long before the front ever does. But I say just put on a small body lift. a 1-2" body lift wont effect anything to much.

i would go with mid nintys k1500 rear shackles on the front and the blocks in the back. i've never seen blocks screw up i've hear them when i get axel wrap but thats six inch blocks i never could get my 2 inch blocks to screw up, fall off, break nothing and they where just homemade tubing ones

I run a 32x12.5 in tire and have no rubbing(except on leaf springs) on the body.

Your Idea for the shackles will work fine and are easy to do. I have never done an easy body lift.
