I just swapped in a D44/12Bolt setup in my '72 Waggy and Would like to find some decent 6" rear springs to replace my too stiff 4" springs and 2" blocks. Does anyone make these for a '72?

Thanks,
Jason

There isn't any 6" post mount springs that I'm aware of.

I have never seen 6" springs for a post mount waggy.

If your 4" springs are too stiff, 6" springs will be even stiffer!

If the springs are new, go flex the hell out of them and they'll soften up.

The springs I have now have 4 very thick leaves and I don't think they'll get any better. I was hoping to get rid of my lift blocks, so maybe I'll have to do some custom work. How difficult is it to change over to later style spring mounts?

Flip the rear shackle. It's easy to do on a post.

If I just flip the shackles, would I need to worry about them flipping back or will they stay in that position without any mods?

I've actually never heard of a rear post mount with the shackle flipped, flipping back up, I suppose it's possible depending on the situation.
I'm still (for a few more weeks) on a 2 1/2" spring and 2" block, I flipped my shackle originally (without the block) but put it back up and added the block as I did not like the way it moved my rear axle forward.
For most of the others on here that did the flip it was not as severe and they kept it flipped.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try today. I've already moved back my axle about an inch via an offset spring perch hole so hopefully I won't have any clearance problems with the axle moving forward.

Well, I tried flipping the shackles, but it looks like my springs are too short to keep the shackles flipped (I think they're very old Rancho springs). Maybe I need to look into another set of 4" springs? Anyone have suggestions?

You could always make new hangers and get some decent condition used 76-91 rear FSJ springs. I'll be doing this in about three weeks as I adapt the RB Shackle Flip Kit for post mount rear wag's/chero's.

Let me know how it works out. That might end up being the easiest way to go.
