ok, heres the scoop. i got my locker out of the box before i installed it into the carrier :D . i seen it had a wing nut on a bolt going through the locker. my dumbazz decided to take the wing nut off, before you ask why i did that, ive never had a locker to know what parts were in one. well    yup you guessed it the locker flew apart at light speed. so i put it back together after about three minutes of staring at all the parts scattered all over the place. well anyways i put it back together and put it back in the box til i decided to put it on the 14 bolt. i got it in the carrier and put my axles in . since i dont have a pinion in it i dont know if its supposed to rotate both axles the same direction without torque from the pinion(like it is now) or if its supposed to unlock and let the axles rotate opposite directions. does someone know what the axles are supposed to do when there is "lets say no driveshaft in and off the ground" ?

Wheels should both turn the same way. Only way that one axle can move without the other is if enough torque differance is reached to compress the springs and let the locking plates ratchet till the torque is relaxed. When you are on the gas it will not unlock no matter what.

With my detroit, the tires turn either the same way, or one tire doesnt turn at all generally (maybe slightly backwards) unless torque is applied to the pinion which will then lock it.
