Whelp, I finally got the scoop on the replacement planetaries for the 727. Word is that it changes the first from 2.45 to either 2.77 or 2.74 depending on whom you listen too. Has anyone ever swapped these? Know of a good cheap place to get the gears? or know of any year/make that came with a 727 with these gears?
As always, thanks in advance for any info.

TF727's used in big RV's came with a lower 1st gear. The Jeepcasing is different, but the guts are the same. I assume (key word there) that you could switch the guts over and that it would work.

Hmmm, I'll have to check around and see what kind of manual I can come up with. Some of those Old Mhomes are in the boneyards. Seems sound reasoning that the rest of the 'innards' would have beefed as well...
When you say the cases different, you talking about the bolt patterns correct? Swapping guts was what I had in mind smile.gif
Thanx a bunch for the info Stuka

By case i ment the aluminum housing is different. but as far as I know the guts are the same as the ChryCo varients. Kinda like the TH400's as well, GM and Jeep versions have the same guts, but different housings.
