Will an AMC 20 hold up to a 6.2 Diesel? Here is why I am asking. Some of you know of my J20 that my dad and I put the 6.2 in it. Well, last may it got T-boned by some moronic punk.
I bought a J10 to use it's cab, frame and along with my J20's bed and drive train to resurect my J20 diesel. However, I think my front axle might be bent and if I can't find another J20 front axle close by, I may just stick with the J10 axles. So, will the AMC 20 rear end hold up to a diesel's torque?

H1 Hummers, used AMC 20 center sections behind the 6.2 for a long time (maybe still do ?)

You could swap out the hubs&rotors......both 10&20 are d44's they would fit.......just have to make sure ratios match......or swap the carrier too, wouldn't you rather have a 3/4 ton? What kind of trans did you use on your swap?I'd like to go diesel myself, but would want a stick, maybe stock jeep t18

There's a pair of'80's vintage j 20 axles listed in the for sale section right now in Indiana!,You shouldn't have a problem selling the extra center diff 60 here, and that driver drop hd 44 is a hard one to find!

I know of two J20 axles that are forsale, but the place wants $350 a piece. I can't justify that right now. So, what I have been thinking, since I am going to use the J10 frame for reserecting my J20, I may just use those axles until I can get the extra money to buy a front 3/4 ton axle. I already have found a cheap sourse of 6 lug 16" rims, so I can use my J20's tires.
Bryan, my dad's Grand Wagoneer is near completion, so maybe by early July we could set something up. Sound good?
