Is it true the rear disks off a Grand Cherokee will work?

Are there any other potential donors?

I saw the kits, but they cost like $600-700.

Thanks

Josh

I doubt the Grand Cherokee ones are a direct bolt on, though I never heard nothing on the subject. There is the bolt patern differance right of the bat

I would just have the rotors re drilled?

Really worried about the backing plate and calpipers.

Grand cherokee wouldn't work, different bolt pattern and that 44 is a whole different animal from what I understand. Other choices than what Kenall mentioned are:

rear discs are easy- make weld-on brackets or buy from AFG manufaturing($7 each). use 91 or later k1500 4wd "heavy duty chassis" rotors. they slide over the axleflange real nice. front calipers, pads and hoses, rear caddy calipers if you want a mechanical E brake. using front calipers you can do it for bout $200 if ya buy everyting new. i cut down my original drum brake backing plate to properly preload the wheel bearings.

further questions? smile.gif

If anyone around here wants one, I've got a rear WT 44 with new rotors, non parking brake calipers, pads, seals, brake lines etc. It has 2 sets of spring perches on it, 1 for J trucks and 1 for waggy's/Chero's. Welded 3.55 gears. Cheap, $250 for the whole thing or $200 for the brake setup.
