Ok, here is my rendition of the 2005 FSJ Invasion-East Coast. Divided up into what I remember....feel free to add your experiances below:

Ken and I met up with Rick Casey (Casey) in Goldsboro about 8:30 or so and after I got "some" gas we headed out to the Uwharrie. We stopped once just past Jordan Lake to stretch and use the potty. It was there we picked up Peter (blue Cherokee WT) and headed the rest of the way to Uwharrie. We got there, set up the SORA compound in the Group Camp and I started checking people in, getting signs hung etc. Other SORA members trickled in to Arrowhead and everyone made their way over to the Group Camp. I didnt go out Friday night, but I know SORA had a night run as dud other FSJers.

Saturday morning rolled around rather early and we had breakfast and got everyone together for the Group Shot and then morning trail rides. I took a group of stockers to close to stockers out. Somehow we got seperated as some of them went to the outpost (Sorry about that!), but I ended up with about 4 FSJ's by the time we got back to camp. Grant (my 78) did awesome and I finally got my flex shot that I never did with Bohunks or the LB....we ran Falls Dam on up to Wolfs Den and then back to camp. It was still pretty slick about this time so it was interesting and I almost got hung up once or twice. One of the cherry GW with me took the right side on the small hill climb on Falls Dam and got hung up on his front diff. WIth the help of some rocks and the GFSJ club we were able to get him down and up the other side. All my stockers did really well for their first time out with no body damage (to them). I may have managed to make the kids scream at one point in the Falls Dam parking lot with all that mud, but it was fun!

Then Megan (my wife) took the Jeep out.

I heard that she ran Wolfs Den and Falls Dam which incidently turned into a night run which should be in the Video as well. Did I mention she got my engine all muddy! I bet theres where the body damage came from too! She did really good though for her first time off road and now I dont think shell be so hesitant to take it out anymore, lol.

There was more carnage this year then I have seen at Uwharrie in one weekend yet, heres what I heard of:

-One FSJ lost a starter
-One lost brakes
-One lost U-bolt
-One stuck accelerator
-One lost 4-lo
-One lost his lugs

Oh and Saturday afternoon we had the giveaways and CNC cooked out for us (great food!!!!)

We raised $36 in donations towards Janet's golfcart and $140 for the IFSJA website from the TFI giveaway!

Thats all that comes to mind right now...

I would like to extend a HUGE thank you to the following:

-BJ's Off Road
-CNC 4x4
-USFS and the Uwharrie Ranger District
-Janet
-GFSJ Club

Thanks to everyone for coming, hope it was worth the drive, on and off the trails!

Total count as far as I could figure this morning was 66 trucks (about 60 FSJ's-more then last year) and 120 warm bodies!

Hey PaddyP, Thanks for the ride (while it lasted!) on Saturday - you guys are a trip! Talked to Becky while on my way to Atlanta and she laughed her arse off when I told her who I rode with. I'm glad to here that you made it back all in one piece. So did you mess up the t-case driving out of the trail with no oil in it?

Mudslinger also got some video of the guy almost rolling his CJ5 while you were getting winched back up the hill from turning around. Can't wait to see that stuff!

Thanks again for to everyone that showed up - had a great time! Maybe I will have to talk my boss out of his Waggy that he has (1984, Mint condition with only 50K miles on it)....

Had a great time meeting you Jack, small world that you know Becky and Eric, what are the chances? The t-case seems OK, it didn't give me any problems at all on the 3 hour drive home, so I guess its OK. I'll pull it aprt in a couple of weeks and check out the internals to make sure.

lifted79cj7@aol.comHey Jack, it was cool meeting you on Saturday. How strange is it to catch a ride from some random person, find out that you are from the same area as them, and are even good friends with some of their best friends? Talk to you later, and I'll email you next time I'm going through ATL, we can get a beer or four. :D
