Alrighty, i wanted to do coils, but i decided to keep it simple for now and go with longer leaf springs.

My dad has a 92 GMC 2wd 1500 that is currently being parted (so i get the springs and such), and i am thinkin i will use the rear leaf springs on my jeep, first off, i need new mounts, becuase i have post mount springs right now, not to mention the length difference.

The mounts need to be low enough to provide lift to equal my future SOA, anyone used the stock Chevy mounts on a jeep? If i move the axle back about 1", and do a SOA, am i gonna be fine w/ the stock driveshaft?

And if you made your own mounts, pics?

Thanks.

The springs alone should move your axle back 3 - 3.5 inches. I run 93 Chevy Suburban springs and my axle moved back 3 inches. I took the over load spring out and still gained 2 to 2.5 inches over factory springs and a shackle flip. Tuck used Chevy bracket with no problems. Cintact him for the specifics.

After you removed the over load, was it just 4 leaves? Did it look like this:

I have four leaves, and mine doesn't have the overload like yours. Mine started with 5 leaves. You may be able to pull the overload and run the spring pack and be at the same thickness as the stock waggy pack.

Yah, i'm gonna try 'em as is, and see what happens, in a couple months most likely, they are on a 2wd, so i hear thats the diff.

I made new spring mounts and did a shackle flip in the rear of my 74. I used the stock springs so I cant help you any more with 63" spring info.
Here are a couple pics of my mounts.

I do believe the springs pins are centered, not positive though. 92 GMC 1500 2wd is where mine are coming from...
