My new gears arrived today, yippie! So where do I start? Who has done this before. I know that it is something that I can do, but just need a good starting point. Should I take the axle all the way off or leave it on the wag? I am going to start this soon. I need to do a few other things first.

Jack it up and pull the wheels ... seems to be the easiest way to get started in my book http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif hehehe

Seriously though...
You can leave them on the vehicle if you want... I gutted them while under mine, but later took them off. This made it easier to not break open the brake lines. I pulled the axle shafts and removed the rear brake housings as one piece and secured them up.. that way the axle is a clean removal.
