I have had my NP 208 in for awhile now, but just this weekend I connected my linkage, to be able to shift out of 2wd. Well, I can shift as far as the linkage rod will go, but I cannot discern the gears. At a full pull of the flag shifter I go into 4w-hi, but I just cannot find Lo. There should be a neutral in there somewhere also, but it was not apparent today. The 4w-hi works great, but I need Lo for any rockcrawling. Any advice would be great.

Make sure you linkage is adjusted right. I dont have a flag shifter in my J10 (I have a floor shifter) but i think all the way up is low range.

ditto was stuka said. also, get under your rig and try to manually pull or push the transfer case "ear" all the way forward. that should put it in 4 lo. if it goes into 4 lo from under the truck, then your linkage needs adjusting.
for safety sake, make sure your parking brake is on or chock the tires.

should be 2hi - 4hi - N - 4lo.

Transmission in "N" and truck moving 2mph when going from Hi to Lo.

I will probably get under and try some more next weekend, but yesterday manually pulling the ear from under the truck as far as I could, would not get it into Lo. I may be hitting part of the support bar that is positioned from the top of the case, but I was pretty sure that I was not yesterday. Thanks a bunch, I should be able to figure something out.

It sounds like nothing is wrong with the linkage, you need to follow the procedure will e mentioned. Otherwise it won’t go into low.
