I will have my dana 60 front this week. It is out of a chevy 1 ton single axle truck. What is the best way to set up steering and what is the width differance going to be?

Could be a lot of work if you currently have a drivers drop front ;)

depends on the year uglyjeepling ;)

79 and older use a GM front D60, bolt in more or less. If its a 80+, get a 78-79 ford HP60, bolt in more or less.

You just need to address steering issues.

If I were to do it all over I would go with OTT arm because they have an intergrated cap. I personaly like high steer because it move all the steering componets above the springs and out of the way of rocks. Since I mostly rock crawl this is adventagous for me. The difference in width will be about 4.5 inches. A wide track is 65in wms to wms and the Chevy dana 60 is 69.5in wms to wms. If you need any other questions answered you can post here or PM me directly...

Checkout the new Blue Tourch steering arms...they are on sale right now and come with septrate caps...really nice units. I have a pair to install on my 60 when I get some time off work.

sorry i have been a way a couple of days. It is a 79 cherokee chief with j20 axles right now. the whole specs are 79 chief with j20 axles. of course amc 360 with roller rockers, and truck advenger carb turbo 400 with 203/205 doubler. i measured the dana 60 spring perches and they are the same as my chief. My brother thinks it is a dodge dana 60 because it came with 3.54 gears in it. Where can i get the high steer arm for passanger side? Thanks for all the help.
