I just had some air shocks put into my 81 wag. Could anybody tell me if it is ok to have 140 PSI in them. I am not sure of the brand , but the person who installed them new said that he has run his in his own truck at 150 PSI max.

I would have been fine with that but shortly after leaving the shop a guy at the parts store said that they should probably be closer to 70 PSI. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Probably helps to know what brand you have, but this is what I found on Monroe.

Monroe Max-Air shocks. Ideal for vehicles that occasionally tow trailers or haul loads. They are designed to maintain level vehicle height. Inflates and deflates from 20 psi to 150 psi., even while the vehicle is loaded.

There were others that claimed a max psi as high as 300?
