Hey man, hows it going? Im wondering how much that front axle of yours cost? I can find the 1410 yokes, but both are over $100. Plus the ujoints and shaft itself still need to be purchased. Are the high angle shafts still more? And if you have a high angle made with that kind of beef, I guess it's really$$$$? Just wondering. Thanks, Dennis(KYJ10)

Hey, the axle is out of a mid 90s F350. I got it in cherry shape for a cool grand. The 1410 yokes are getting more and more expensive but I believe I got one for the axle for around $65 and one for the t-case for $75. If you shop around you can find them for less than $100 but they are still expensive. Also, they pop up on ebay sometimes too. I know I've bought some 1350 ones off of there at good prices to have as spares and I've seen 1410 too at good deals. I forget how much the u-joints are, I got the bling bling kind that form a positive seal and don't ever have to be greased and I think I paid $40 for each. Then my shaft cost me over $300 bux. I wasn't saying that the whole setup is cheaper than a high-angle setup, I was just saying I think it's stronger...less moving parts. And in my opinion there is no replacement for beef, so I spared no expense. All things considered I have over $3000 in my frontend.

Yea, by the time I regear, I'll be pushing $2000 and haven't got the shaft yet. If I upgrade to 35 outers and matching hubs, I'll be around there. I remember looking at this axle thinking,"A few hundred dollars, and I'll be in business". Blah ha ha. I always underestimate. So I may just go with what your talking about. I know a driveshaft shop here that does things fairly cheap. Did you get a long spline slip, or just normal? Dennis

It's long spline but I don't need it really. It barely moves much in and out. But, like I said...overkill. When you get this thing done I fully expect you to throw it on a trailer and come ride with me around Tellico smile.gif
