Yesterday I took my Wagoneer out wheeling in mud and water that came to the bottom of the doors. 33" Geolandar M\T's come in handy in a swamp!Any way I am lucky that my Jeep still runs, the carb drank mud (I guess that's why it kept stalling). I bought a new K&N air filter and sprayed the carb out with a can of gumout, now it will idle again. I don't want to do this again. So my question is will my intake air be dry if I take off the hose that goes to the front clip? or do I need a snorkel to ford deep pits of mud? How about getting air from the cab?loud I guess.

and a whole lot of mud that won't wash off!

i've seen where people run their snorkel tube into their cab behind their dash or somewhere around there. i mean you're gonna be having a 360 screaming anyway, so what's with a little air intake noise?
Currently u have a drier tube running my air intake to up beside my Passenger hood hinge ,,,,works OK ,
But i remeber once seein a pic of a Yellow FSJ i think from Mexico ,,,,running a nice Snorkel set up,,,, would love to find a listing also

I think it would be cool to put a 3" or whatever size it is inlet in the firewall with a cover to close it off for daily driver use.then I could just flip my hose back around to the front clip.Hmm... I wonder could I find anything decent in a heating and air supply house? Any other ideas?

np..
the only drawback I see with the snorkel...one could get hung up on low lying trees or obstacles. I too would go for the Brown's setup cuz its mounted behind the hood.. not on the side to get ripped off by a tree or something
