Does anyone know where can I find a t-case skid plate for an 83 waggy? Does any body sell these or do I have to make one?

Ideas for other under carriage and body protection are appreciated too.

Thanks,
Toby

steel seems to be pretty cheap... if you can find a welder, a cutter and a drill I think you're on the right track. I don't know of anyone who makes skid plates... and frankly, i don't think they would be worth the price that one would have to pay...

There isn't much of an aftermarket "offroad stuff in a box" avail for FSJ's. I think you're better off to fab your own skid plates.

I am going to put a plate for as much of the under cariage that I can try to make it as much of a flat bottom as I can... My friend used .25" plate for his bottom and he said he loves it and can just rest and pivot around on it.

I asked this same question early on. Most people seemed to think it wasn't needed. The T Case sits up pretty high.

I think there is a template for a qudra trac plate in the tech section.

Not to mention the amount of heat it will trap.

Thanks for the thoughts. I'll have to look at the possbility of trapping heat.

On my TJ, the t-case skid plate is a lot lower, but it also takes a beating. I go to Moab frequently and bounce on the rocks. Wouldn't want my precious FSJ to get hurt.

I'll check out the template in the tech section and probably go that route.

Thanks again,
Toby

Has anyone built rocker protection? That seems like an area that would take some abuse when playin in the rocks.

i'd agree with rockwagon on this. the amount of heat these trucks produce is enough to melt the polar icecaps. trapping that kind heat in is no good.

What about a tube style skid? Use a couple of 1 3/4 pipe and that way the heat would still be able to vent. But the big stuff would be kept away from the t-case
