Has any one taken the track bars off of there GW when during a lift, I put them back but they seem to limit travel, thought i might see if any one had a reason not to take them off.

When I installed my BJ"s 6" lift, we needed to take the track bars off because they became too short. We never put them back on. I then installed quick disconnects on the sway bar, but we must have forgotten to tighten up one of the links because a few days later, I noticed that the bolt and the bushings were gone on one link. You can be sure that I went through all the other bolts that we had touched to ensure that nothing else would fall off. The funny thing is that I never noticed any difference with the sway bar or without...so I just removed the quick disconnects and now drive it without track or sway bars. It drives well on the road, but I don't drive it like Mario Andretti and is awesome off road. When I had asked people in the know if it was a problem, they said that these wagons had been built without sway or track bars from 1965 to the end of the 70's without them and everything was fine, so don't worry.

You don't need tack bars with leaf springs anyway.

We do recommend running the swaybar as it does help with stability on the road, especially when you have to jerk the wheel to avoid animals / other drivers / potholes, etc. It really does reduce the amount of body roll.

Hey Ryan, I'd probably agree with you there. I'm usually not in a real hurry driving the Wagoneer so I haven't really worried about it and I haven't had to emergency manouver with it either. I'm wondering if additional bushings are available from you guys.

Jerk the wheel to avoid animals? It's a GW .. you just run them over!
