Hey guys...just got half of my leaf spring order in from JCW (half! the other half is supposed to arrive tomorrow). So, I went out to look at my Jeep and noticed the bushings in the leaf spring eyes are shot. No problem, b/c the new springs already have bushings pressed in. However, the shackle bushings look like cr*p too and I was unable to find those on JCW's site, or any of the others I checked. JCW DID have a Prothane suspension/chassis bushing SET for $114.95...is that my only choice? Readers of my earlier posts will remember that my selection of 4WD shops here is limited unless I want running boards or a brush guard and I'm driving a 'burban or an Exploder. Help please! I'm looking forward to wrenching this Sunday!

One other thing...I've looked at/for shocks to go with my new springs. Around how much should I pay for the RS5000s? Any other makes I should be looking at? I saw a listing for the Edelbrock IAS kit but it was something like $350 and that's out of my range if I want to do any other Jeep stuff this year.

I ordered front leaf spring and shackle bushings from www.espo.com. (http://www.espo.com.) They were about $7.50/each for rubber bushings. Poly was the same price, if you prefer that. Delivery from PA to CA took about four days. The bushings were a tight slip fit with the shackles which I believe is good because it eliminated any side to side play within the shackle. The new bushings made a very noticable difference in the ride quality and steering precision of my '77 Chero.

shocks.....depends what you want to spend...
the IAS or the Rancho 9000 are awesome but expensive(I think about $75 shock)....the 5000's are stiff but good, I am using the Doetsch Tech which are an all around good shock for the price $30 a piece.
actually.....my Doetsch Tech are brand new and I am looking at selling them.....I miss the adjustability of the 9000's I had on my last truck.....so I would be willing to sell mine pretty reasonable..they have 100 miles on them, let me know

Hey Bart, you got yersef a deal! Email me off list with the address to send the check/mo/multiple rolls of Canadian dimes/whatever. I ordered bushings from ESPO, so I've got an extra ten days or so of waiting for them to arrive before I can do anything. I might just spend that time doing the floorboards. Hmmmmmm....why do I have to do all this stuff when I'm out of work??!??!?!?!?
