I just got a new(used) Windshield ($55.50..shipped)
Just a have few Installation Q's:
-has Anyone done the Installation themselves?
- how hard is it to DIY?
- special things needed for install?
-does any know the cost of just having it installed by a pro.?
ps. I stink at wrenching anything.

Best to have a pro install it. I watched the installer put my new one in and he had a hard time. Another factor to consider is that if the windshield you bought is old...it is brittle...snaps easily. Guess how I know that? smile.gif

Around here I pay about $25 to have a pro install it for me and be responsible if it breaks.

The pro's will only be responsible for breaking the windshield if it's new. If it's a used one, they will assume no responsibility if it breaks - I've seen this in a few areas across the country so I'm pretty sure it's a nationwide policy for most of the big companies.
I've put 3 in myself (2 successfully, 1 cracked), and let a pro handle one. From now on, it's a pro job only. He came to my house, put that thing in slick in about 20 minutes max. It was cool to watch him and learn the technique a little.

- how hard is it to DIY?
Not as hard as getting the trim back on, takes about a 1/2 day for one person like me.
- special things needed for install?
Lots of soappy water and a couple of wood clothes pins was all I used.
It's a darn bit easier without the front clip on or the engine in your way too.
-does any know the cost of just having it installed by a pro.?
Nope, too cheap and stuborn, had to prove I could do it myself.
ps. I stink at wrenching anything.
Probably a good indicator that you should pay some one else, makes it their problem.

I would let a pro do it if it were mine. I would not want to deal with the leaks afterwards.
