I want to put my radiator behind the front seats with a reversable fan to keep me warm this fall. I got the idea from Andrew (rockjeep44) and it sound like a great idea. so where do i get the flexible tubing i could use for the cooling lines, does it haev to be stainless braded stuff or regular black hose, and also what size electric fan will be suitable for cooling a 304 or 360. diameter and CFM.
i know to far away to help , but at My work we sell a soft and hard wall,(reinforced ) marine coolant hose..
it avail in upto 12 1/2ft lenghts so that shouldnt be a problem

I checked all over, and everything I found suitable for pressure and heat was like $15 a foot. So I just used aluminized exhaust tubing. And connected everything with flex and 90* fittings at the local parts place.
i found the catolog we use ,, with the hose specs. marine coolant hose (http://www.greenlinehose.com/catalogs/2003%20HOSE%20Catalog/9Marine.pdf)
if that doesnt work ,,here is the catolog
greenline hose (http://www.greenlinehose.com/hoses.htm)

Slim has it right, marine stuff is almost always a step up from anything you can buy from napa etc. For example, hose clamps are thicker and stainless, every strand of copper wire is tinned, hoses are double wall, reinforced, sheathed and available in large diameters.
Consequently of course everything is at least 2x as expensive.
Robber - have you considered mounting a small aux radiator behind the front seats? then you could plumb it w/ your heater lines.
good luck,
Robert

At each end I welded a small lip, about one inch in. Then I just slid the hose over it, and used a clamp. Had worked well for about a year. Ive known guys that have used it for a long time.

The biggest and most CFMs you can fit on the radiator. I ran dual 16in fans, I think they moved around 2500cfm apeice or something like that.

in the latest jp magazine, they had a write up about a mojave heater or something and they were saying to use copper tubing if you were going to run it all the way back to the rear seat, so i'm sure that would work well.

I bought them used but Summit or Jegs has em. I believe they were Derale with the curved "S" blade. I know you go to junkyards so you might want to get the Taurus fans. They work better than anything on the market or so I've heard.

I run the Voyager dual fan and never does it get above 190*. All the extra coolant capacity really helps also.

Plus the aluminized exhaust tubing you ran acts as a heat sink.
