So i'm driving home from work, pull into Chevron and fill up. Get an 18 pack and head home Not 30 seconds away and the triz starts to sputter. On acceleration it just stumbles and has little power. Get to a parking lot rev it up for a bit then fine. 5 minutes later the same thing but worse. When I park again the engine shuts off and I see smoke rolling out of the engine. Open the hood and air cleaner and more smoke. Air filter is 3 weeks old and is done. Triz has dieseled since I bought it two 1/2 years ago regardless of timing setting and has recently had erratic idle. Time for carb rebuild or what?? Just did it 1 year ago. Thanks for any help fellas. On my 10th beer, gonna need more for tomorrow.

sounds like a bad float/seat(dirt)leaking

At this late date it is unlikely to be directly the problem, but those are precisely the symptoms of what happened to a lot of vehicles back around '91 when gas stations switched to oxygenated gas and vehicles died all over the place.
My Chief did the same exact thing and swapping out the fuel filters cleared it up. The fuel cleaned systems so well (apparently) that all the crap it loosened plugged filters and carbs.
So, like the above post suggested... dirt in your carb is likely to be the problem and you should swap out the filter also.
