My windshield is whiteing around the bottom and starting to make its way up the sides. Looks like a frosted window. Is there anyway to get rid of this?

Replace the windshield. There is no way to remove the milky color. IRC this is the center plastic sheet (saftey glass lamination) that is discoloring. I have the same, you could keep it and let everyone know its that classic aged look.

Hmmm.....bottom edge of my window too. This sounds like an epidemic. :( My guess is that the plastic saftey film that is sandwiched in between the glass is starting to deteriorate.....If that's the case, replacement would be the only fix. Bummer :( :(
Heh, Heh......Bob beat me to the punch! :D

i have it to and was told that it is delamination of the glass and film. replacement is the only fix
Yeah, i got the same problem too, and was hoping there was some way to fix it even though it isn't a problem yet, it just looks kinda odd since it is only on the drivers side.

ME,THINKS YOU CAN FIX IT!!....WELL MAYBE...I FIXED BB HOLES AND THE STAR TYPE CRACKS IN WINDSHIELDS,WITH THE VAC AND SILICONE MACHINES,WHEN THEY FIRST CAME OUT,ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO!....YOU WOULD DRILL A HOLE,INTO THE GLASS,JUST TO THE PLASTIC,THEN VAC THE HELL OUT OF IT,THEN YOU PRESURE "FORCE" THE SILICONE IN...IT WOULD CLEAR THE BB OR THE CRACK RIGHT UP!!! JUST THINKING THAT IT COULD WORK!!!...BODYMANS 2 CENTS   smile.gif

Atleast mine is uniform and even all around
getting a new windshield installed at your house by a professional is most likely cheaper than you think it will be....call around and get a few quotes.

The Fix............A BIG ROCK!!!! Next to rust, saggy springs, the milky outer edge of the windshield is the next most common Jeep Option!!

nothing you can do but replace it it will eventually go up to where it makes it hard to see out.

Yep, mine was that a-way. But it also had a rock chip in it. I called my insurance company and they sent someone out to replace it with the OEM glass to boot. Like driving a new Jeep looking through clear peepers.
Then a rock came of my wife's tire of her new Cherokee and cracked it a week later. Another new OEM windshield and holding. I think they ran about $350 - $400 to the insurance co.
