Ok, i plan on installing my 14b ff floater in the rear, and i plan on pulling all my hd d44 stuff out of the axle and install it in my s.u.a. d44 in the jeep....

my question is this, the axle is out of a chevy with the hubs locked much the same way as my jeep is, and when i install it the only tires i have for it are 2 good tread bfgs and 2 mediocer tred bfg's so i plan on installing warn hub lockouts so that i can unlock the hubs and run the qt in e drive....however my main concern is that im going to be moving 3hrs away and will need the jeep to move most my stuff, will the qt be ok in e drive with the front hubs unlocked and the slight tire size difference for that amount of time?

sorry for such a long post but any suggestions would be appreciated

With hubs unlocked and in e-drive you will be fine.. but I would remove the front shaft.. but thats just me

at least for the back and forth trips, so the qt will be fine if i remove the front shaft and run in e drive, cause i may have to run with two diff size tires in front and rear, and if the shaft is disconected it shouldnt hurt running 2 diff sizes for a bit huh

If the front driveshaft is out, the QT won't see a tire size difference at all.

I ran my QT for a year with no front shaft and in E-Drive... don't worry about it.. it will be fine...

You're going to move the HD stuff out of the GM 44? Axles, joints? The shafts aren't the same length, so I don't think they'll swap. Besides that, the shafts and joints are of equal strength in both axles. The only advantage to the HD axle would be its additional width, and thicker tubes/casting..

the originall plan was to put a 14b ff in the rear thats 8 lug so instead of running 8 in the rear and six in the front, i can get a matched set gm hd d44 front and a 14b ff (8 lugs) i was gonna swap out the stuff out of the gm axle, i.e. spindle's, everything i would need to run 8 lug on the stock jeep housing, and have 4.10's but that looks like its gonna change here pretty soon after researching the amount of swapping that would be required.....
all i really want is my stock d44's with 4.10-4.56's
