Ok, this is a pretty good one.

My power door lock switch on the drivers side door doesn't work when the door is more than about 25% open. It works when I am inside and the door is shut and when I open it just enough to stick my body through the crack of the door from outside and reach the switch. Once I open the door more than that though, the switch won't activate the locks.

Any ideas FSJ experts?

Probably the wiring harness where it goes through the door hinge area. This problem is very common.

Do you have any advice or remedies?

You will have to find which wire is "open" and repair it.

I had that happen on a rear door, it's just as trssho says- a partially busted wire. The insulation (one side) on mine was worn away by the open/close cycle of the door. Luckily I only had to tape it up, but even if it's broken you should be able to splice more wire in. If you do splice it make sure to use some heat shrink tubing on the splices, as that's an area that gets pretty wet, and alot of wear.
