If I can score them is anyone interested in 14 Bolt Detroits and 4.56 ring and pinion

I may have a line on at least three 14 bolt rear ends. I want one the others would be available. I would think removing the ring and pinion and locker/ housing assembly and sending them would be a whole lot cheaper than sending the entire axle. Pick up a 14 bolt locally and you would be in business.

Cost would be around $300.00 to $350.00 plus shipping.

Anyone ??

How many miles on them? New Detroit is 379.00 so I don't consider it a smokin good deal.

I wish I could the junk yards down here think there stuff is gold. I checked with 4-Wheel Parts and they said a Detroit for the 14 bolt would be around $400.00 and the ring and pinion would be a round $200.00.

These would be coming out of military 14 bolts and low miles.

I would not be making any profit just trying to help out members of the site.

I'd be in for a 4.56 gear set, I could even swap you a set of 3.73 gears if it would cut the costs down. How much for just the gears?? or doyou want to do the whole assmbly?

youll need to get the carrier itself as well,as the factroy gearsets out of the military trucks will be "thin" and use a different carrier than your 3.73s.

you could spend $200 on a thick 4.56 gearset(most aftermarket 14 bolt gears are thick,due to the scarcity of the lower carrier) but then youll have to spring the $379 for a new detroit,or live with it open or welded ;)

check the pirate for sale section daily. eventually an aftermarket thick set will pop up. i got mine for $40 plus the ride :D
