how far does the 360 go back?

How far can we trace the orgins of the amc 360?Thanks!

It was first offered in the(I believe)AMX and Javelin in either 69 or 70. I could look in my AMX book but I'm to lazy for that. I don't think it was available in 68. I think all that was offered in 68 for the V8's was the 290, 343, and the 390.

I might add that I don't believe it was offered in an FSJ till 1971.

According to the Jeep Bible, the 360 became available in 1971.

Grat you are correct that that was the first year in a Jeep but I know it was used before then on the AMX's. I will go get my book and post back.

Ok got it from my AMX book this time. The AMC 360 was first offered in 1970. This is for the AMC line though and not Jeep. 1971 was the first year for the motor in Jeeps.
