Got a care package for my jeeps in the post. Here's the numbers, both are 4 barrels, drastically different venturi size and construction. Larger venturi one is Aluminum, 1/4 the weight of the other which is HEAVY!!!
Can someone fill me in or point me to a discussion of the relative merits of the 2?
1. Large venturi aluminum ="12r-10658b"
2. Small but HEAVY= "LIST 1850-2 0850"

Which one would you think would be best? both seem in very good condition, tight shafts etc. would plan on rebuilding before installation.
Thanx in advance

Ok additional information. The shiny one is a 4011 model and the heavy one is a 4106. Hope that helps smile.gif which one is better for the jeep application?

The 1850-2 sounds like a holley 600cfm 4bbl carb.4106 is generally an Edelbrock carb part #(a 600cfm I think).

You could try Holley's or Edelbrock's websites with the numbers but I'm sure someone will give you the answer here.

It is a holley 4160. I have this carb and I love it on and off road.

The list 1850-2 is a great carb for off road use. It is a 600cfm single feed side hung float vac secondary carb with #66 jets, a 6.5 power valve, .025 accel nozzle and plain colored secondary spring. It will have the spring assists on the floats so no "off road" kit is needed. Personally I would go up to #68 jets and a .034 squirter and the lightest secondary spring and you should be pretty close.
The 1850 -2 is what I have on my CJ. While I do not run rocks I do run gravel pits and get off camber and in goofy angles a lot and the Holly works great. The only other carb that I have seen giving the power and drivabilty of the Holly is the Demon StreetDemon 670 cfm carb on my buddies CJ5.

I don't have the off-raod kit. The only thing I did was to put a crossover tube on. It looks like the tube on the truck avenger carb except mine is made out of rubber fuel line. work great for rock crawling.
