AMC360 in cj8 wiring

ok, i know this might be newbie as all hell..but i just need a quick answer...i've got my 360 from an 85 Grand Waggy bolted up in my scrambler, and i'm ready to start the wiring...
so the question is...can i just plug everything from my cj harnass into the 360, like will the ignition still work, can i use my harnass, do i need to use the waggy harnass....

I'm not familiar with the ignition in a Scrambler. If it uses the Ford Motorcraft ignition box like the Wag did, you can just plug it in. At least that's what worked on my '87 Wrangler/'84GWag 360 install.

I am not sure which years the CJ had the carb with the computer box in the wiring. In my J10, I went from a 258 to a 360 and everything hooked up, but wouldn't fire because of the computer. I swapped in a non computer harness (underhood portion only) and all is well.

thanks guys....i have no wires goin to the carb now other than the choke, and all the plugs look the same, so it looks like all i'm gonna have to do is lengthen and shorten wires to make it fire....

I did the same thing to one of my old '8's, Wag. 360 for the 258. It was also an '82 without the bbd comp. The harness, ign. module connections etc... are virtually identical and plugged right in after moving things around to put them in the correct V8 location. I still have a CJ motor mount conversion kit for 6 to 8 new in the box. Sold both Scramblers last year, after 15 years of having a CJ :( Come to think of it I still have a bunch of CJ parts. :D
