Im planning on using the rancho 44044 2" lift springs up front, but what do people use in the back? Blocks are not an option

I used 92 suburban springs out back. It sits level. The burb springs will move your axle back 3-4 inches though.

Here is something I mentioned in a previous thread. Also, take the overload out. Paul, did you take any leafs out? I used the 1/2 tons without the overload. They are just two leaf, and I sit close to even. I would think the 3/4 would be taller. Maybe it's the same, just more spring rate? Dennis

Oh and by the way Steven, I have my set of chevy springs and plan to sell them soon. They are off a 96 and in perfect shape. Dennis
Who has the cheapest prices on the 44044's???

summit has them at 250 a pair, maybe free shipping. Yeah I guess chevy rears would be the best. was it very hard to figure out where to put the rear mount? I'll be shackle inverting at the same time, as well as swapping frames and building a flatbed. the plot thickens...

I have the shackle inversion from RB. If you like, I can measure from eyelid to eyelid and that should give you a pretty good idea how far they should be apart. Dennis

Yes I pulled the overload out and I sit level.

without the overload, do you need to use a bumpstop to prevent the spring from bending upward when flexed?

I have done much frame cutting, so my stuff will be totally different. But from eye to eye will give you the distance, and you can mount yours according to where you want your wheelbase. OK, using RB's kit, from front eye to the top eye in the back, is 61 1/2". Make sure you use the top shackle eye for the back measurment. Now my rear is much lighter than yours, as I have cut it all up, but this should get you close.
What I did was tack my front mounts in where I felt they should be, then used clamps to hold the rear mount. Lowered it to see where it sat. Jack it back up and adjusted accordingly. I think on RB's kit, the front mount goes exactly in the same spot, just lower. I moved mine forward as I cut my wheel base down. So you will/should be able to tack the fronts according to the directions in his kit. I guess your using his kit. Then just get the back mount bolt hole at 61.5 and go from there. Sorry so long. Should work pretty well.

What are the main reasons for running a burb leaf?
