View Full Version : driveshaft questions
I have a 6 inch lift and I am wondering if I should get cv driveshafts I eventually will do a spring over and I dont want to purchase new driveshafts all over again.
I will be doing some pretty heavy froadin
but I dont want it to vibrate on the street.
what should I do?

Zac, go cheap brother for now. if you plan an SOA soon then you're wasting your money getting the good stuff just yet. i know for a fact that you'll have to lengthen the front shaft and quite possibly the rear with that much lift. my suggestion is wait till you get all your lift done and get the drivetrain set up just how you want it and then drop soem serious coinage on the shafts.

I am wondering the same thing except I will be using 6 inch and 3 inch hanger spacers on front and blocks in the rear.

can you explain more ar provide a link to "hanger spacers" you refered too?

I have the (spacers) on my rig but for mine I took 3x3 square tubing that has been reinforced and welded it to the frame where the origonal hangers were then welded the hangers to the bottom of the tubing.

Save your driveshaft mods for the SOA completion....

now I just gotta figure how to squeeze the 36/12.50 tsl's under my nt wagoneer with six inches of lift and wt axles untill I do the spring over

it's called cutting...and a lot of it!! :D good luck, let me know Zac and i can come over and help if you need it.
The only part I am not sure about is the back.
Can I cut into the doors and weld a new piece of metal to cover the gap I made?

I am doing the same thing as zach with the 3x3 square tubing on the front with 3" blocks in the rear.
