My friend has a mid 70s model 360 block that he had machined and now he is putting everything back together. The problem he is having is that he doesn't know what bolts go where and he is missing alot of bolts. He asked if I could help so I thought you guys might have a link to a exploded diagram or a tech sheet that lists what bolts and sizes he needs, and just any information would help. Thanks

A factory service manual would have that most likely. Wish I had one, they sure come in handy. Worth the 60 bucks or so that they cost. Several people here have em, maybe they could scan it in. I will check my chiltons but I doubt it has it.

this is a tough one.... bolt have different length and this is not in the manual..... even i use a cardboard with a rough drawing..... the water pump/alternator/ PS is a bit of a challenge....
just try to match..... mount loose without gasket and see what goes where

I believe most of the long front end bolts are 3/8" diameter x 18 Threads Per Inch (except for the long alternator pivot bolt and 2 of the ac bracket mounts which are 7/16" dia x 20? TPI). There are AMC V8 stainless steel etc. bolt kits available on ebay which should get you close although they don't contain all the long bolts you will need. Then you could probe the missing bolt paths to determine lengths and purchase the missing bolts at a hardware store. I just went through my engine and installed stainless steel bolts in this manner. There are 3 steel spacers of various lengths that have to be placed in the correct locations. One long spacer behind the alternator for the alternator pivot, 1 small spacer between the AC bracket and waterpump and 1 even smaller spacer between the power steering bracket and waterpump (certain model waterpump housings may have one or both of these spacers cast into the pump housing). If you are missing any of these you will need to fabricate them. Wes
