View Full Version : T/c shifters
I was out wheeling today in a friends 81 FSJ and I noticed that it was alot easier for him to shift his t/c , i think possibly due to the long shifter lever under the seat ,
so my questions is ,,,,,,,,, will the shifter lever style out of an FSJ (like the 81 with (i think) a np219 t/c) work on my 77 with a Qudra-trac?

i always thot the "plastic flag" shifter was the same on all the 80s FSJs with an auto tranny.
only difference i have ever noticed is the manual trany rigs have a lever on the tunnel, like a real transfer case smile.gif
did the jeep you were riding in have a manual tranny,or an auto?
you could rig up the shifter from a manual tranny yo your 219,but it wont neccessarily help it shift any easier. worn bushings, driveline binding, and internal transfer case issues all contribute to how rough or easy the case will shift.
the rig i was in was an Auto ,,,,and so is mine ,,,,
mine also runs a Quadra-trac His (I believe) was a 219
