so which is the way to go?
$700 plus for BJ's.
SOA $211 plus for RB's kit and then the front set up?
so what are the up and downs of each? and cost effectiveness?

well just for reference i spent $1500 on my SOA and shackle reversal, but that included new high angle dshaft, revolvers front and rear, and x-over steering. its all the nickel and dime crap that adds up. brake lines, spring perches, new shocks, and the like. but i love the set up and get mad flex. my flex is only limited by my shocks (15" travel)

LOL yeaaaaaah buddy i'd got SOA cause 6inch spring won't flex that well at all compared to stock springs.

SOA no doubt. I don't like revolvers, at least for rock climbing. They make you too unstable. I went from Rusty's 6" kit to SOA and trust me, I should have done SOA first time around. Cost of it was under $500 for me, doing it all myself BTW.

I'm getting a BJ's 6" in next week. Sorry for the lack of knowledge but what the hell is a "revolver" I only know of the Smith & Wesson kind!

I was leaning more tward SOA, but wanted to see if their were any draw backs besides the steering issue.

The only drawback to SOA is if the person that wants it doesnt have 'skills' or the tools to complete the project.. but thats what friends are for...

You must have a little patience with SOA as every job has the basics of SOA but with a little variety on time and frustration.

Both the 6" lift and SOA will get you where you want to be... but for what reason are you going there? that is the ultimate question to ask yourself...

more comfortable ride with SOA by maintaining your springs... more flex as well.. I have never seen( nor do I want to) a 4 or 6" spring in a negative arch from a flex

Here is a pic of Robber80 on a good Revolver/SOA flex...

I've seen them unload on decents and climbs...

Check the links in RiverBeasts sig, and he'll have an index on the lift side of his page linking to most of the operations he's done on his Wag, including the SOA. It's the most in depth and exlanitory SOA page for Wags I've found. However, if it doesn't give you a warm fuzzy and enough confidence, check the www.rebelrockrunners.org (http://www.rebelrockrunners.org) web page, 'cause they got some good pics of SOAs under "Andrews Shop" in the "pics" section.

just get yourself some spring perches and weld them to the top of your axle, simple as that :D . and some other minor stuff. check out RB's site.

great pics RB of yrs and Robber's , but just to show a different set up , since u both run Revolvers, it is possible to flex good with just a SOA and no Revolvers

http://www.pretense.net/4x4/flexn.jpg

also im curious to ask ,,,,what Revolvers does every one run ? I remeber hearing rumour , the application to use , are ones made for rear of an XJ ? this correct?

yeah... XJ rears.... thats what I have...

you do have GREAT flex without revolvers.... I noticed you have your spring clips removed visible on the separation of the main and secondary leaf in the pic on the driver side... that helps out alot... I hope they dont scissor on you... just watch them for you safety...

I have yet to fully flex my rig out... time will only tell...

you really need X_over Steering ( you can see it in my pic above)

www.bjsoffroad.com (http://www.bjsoffroad.com) should have a pitman arm for you.. but X-Over steering is better....

speakin of Revolvers,,,,,, i saw on 2 sites now , people running " Revolver Shackles from Metal Made-Rite "

any one know more of this brand? better? worse? cheaper ??????

metal made-rite is the original company that developed revolver shackles (If my memory serves me right), Until they sold the rights to teraflex. I think they still make Revolvers that are 3/4" bigger than teraflex and aren't as weak.
