I was wondering what the opinion is of shackles up front for an inch lift. Already have an AAL up front and in rear. What is the general viewpoint on these. I found them at BJ's.

i have them on my wag and have had no problems at all. I got mine because the front leaf springs needed a little help after all these years and i am not in a spot yet where i can afford to replace the springs.

ride is great and i got about 1.5 inches of lift with mine.

My 87 GW is wearing them. You will have to widen the spring end a little, they are a little narrow. The quality is awesome. Nice "hammered" finish, thick materials and smooth welds. I gained about 1.5". They helped with the pinion angle too.

What do you all use for stock size shackles front and rear? Any available with Poly bushings?

I'm also looking for Fram-body poly bushings and front swaybar poly bushings. None of the catalogs seem to list us anymore. But out of all the thousands of shapes and sizes I figure something might fit by accident.

i left the stock shackle on the rear of the front spring in place. i just yanked the stock shackle off the front and replaced it with the lift shackle/ my shackles are a little different than the ones that BJ's sells. I got mine from Rockcandy and they are greasable :D
but look exactly same shape and design.

don't go crazy with shackle lift. 0.5" of lift up front with them is all you really want (1" longer than stock). Much more than that and they become rock magnets.

I am in the same boat as beloth. No rock krawling for me. I just want more clearance for tires and looks!!!

I had springs made and they ended up a hair short so to prevent the shackle from flipping forward I switched.

i ended up using shackles from a Chevy that gave me about 1" lift. worked perfect.

I think I have finally settled on 4" lift springs for my Chero but am still playing with the idea of some lift shackles. I'd like to hear some real world applications and what kind of results you are getting out of them, good or bad. I'm going to be doing all kinds of wheeling and rockcrawling and it would be nice to know what these could do for me.

Thanks in advance.
