As AntiChrysler said It's possible the blower housing could have been from a different rig. They're easy to break when changing an engine.
I busted mine up real nice and pretty when I put in the 401. Anyone know where to get them new so I don't have to go and piece it together?

And out of curuosity why does it have the electrical connections on the side of it. I have no idea how these things work. But I will soon.

Klank,

It looks like you aren't the only one having trouble with the fiberglass heater box. The fiberglass deteriorates over time because of the extreme heat in the engine compartment. Rather than trying to buy a new one, here is an alternative. http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=004050

The wires coming out of the side of the unit are for the blower speed control resistor. I assume it is in the air flow to keep it cool.

I'm doing some research to see what I can get a used or new one for.

Get one out of a '77 or older rig. They're metal and won't fall apart when you look at them wrong.
